September is the month of intensive working visits of the project partners in Warsaw to the WIT and in Cluj-Napoca to the UAD. Final arrangements are developed and the agreed points from the program are being implemented.

A long break in direct meetings caused by the epidemiological situation emphasized even more this very important factor of human existence – extremely important socialization through direct contact in the real world, not only in the virtual world.

Cultural awareness training

In the last week of August, there was a cultural awareness training related to the preparation of joint studies. Due to the epidemiological situation, the training was held online.

Participants learned about a wide range of cultural differences. Higher education systems of selected European Union countries were also discussed.

The issues of the differences between Slavic and Romance languages were also discussed, which may affect the perception of spoken language messages and their translation into English, the lingua franca of the modern world.

Summer-time and working visits

Though August is a holiday month at universities, our WIT Team and UAD Team are working on the remaining items from our common study programme. Using the opportunity to talk in person and the socio-cultural aspects of meeting at the universities, the working visits are fruitful and promising.

And here we are with our brand-new textbook for students. For students of Arts to talk about Art. To talk about art periods and techniques, to express and present themselves and their opinions in English in the globalized world. Following Umberto Eco’s notion of The Open Work, our prospective students will acquire proper register to discuss works of art from their perspective.

SpeakArt contains original articles written by an art historian from UAD and challenging tasks prepared by linguists and philologists from WIT. The main objective of the textbook is to enhance speaking skills. Drawings by a WIT alumna and numerous photos illuminate the book, and the attractive design has been prepared by our WIT lecturer.

Working visit at Partner’s University in Cluj-Napoca

As the COVID-19 situation stabilized, members of our WIT team has gone on a working visit and to the Partner University in Cluj-Napoca. This is our first non-virtual meeting after many months of a difficult situation in the world. The team met all the requirements needed to travel and stay in Romania. The working visit schedule is tight as there are many tasks to discuss and complete.

The joy of June

So here we are in the beautiful sunny month of June, and there are even more reasons for joy as we can finally realize our plans concerning the working visits. The team from WIT is getting ready for the visit at UAD at the end of the month. Numerous subjects concerning the tasks from our plan have been scheduled for discussion during the meetings.

We are looking forward to working with our Partners in person.

The whole world has been dealing with the pandemic and its aftermath for more than a year now. This new challenging situation has required employing digital tools to much greater extent than ever before.

Our works and collaboration has been going on incessantly and we have made significant progress with our tasks. As the meetings and working meetings in person are not available yet, we have been conducting numerous meetings online, having long phone talks and exchanging emails. We have adjusted our schedules and style of working to the demands of the contemporary situation.

Spring and video tutorials

We have welcomed the spring of 2021 with further video tutorials carried out as part of one of the project tasks for computer-based subjects.

Video tutorials prepared by our lecturers will be an extremely engaging and useful diversification of the didactic process with materials available online. These are original studies to support the implementation of the program content of computer graphics subjects.

In the modern digitized world, in addition to traditional teaching methods and
techniques, universities increasingly use online didactic materials supporting
the teaching process.

Online dissemination of scientific content supports and diversifies the teaching process.

Within the framework of the project’s tasks, we prepare tutorials for computer-based
subjects. One of a series of eight scheduled video tutorials has already been
completed. “Projection techniques” is teaching material related to subjects
such as animation and 3D projection techniques.

English textbook

English, which has become lingua franca of the contemporary world, is used for communication in all scientific fields and in interpersonal contacts. As a
global language, it has also become one of the most frequently chosen languages for international studies.

While preparing the program of joint Polish-Romanian studies, we have undertaken the task of creating a specialist English textbook for graphic designers. Original texts concerning both the history of art and practical issues have been created, and the tasks are designed to ensure that students express themselves efficiently and fluently on given topics.

Works on the final format and artwork of the textbook are underway.
